Arad is designer Israeli born in 1951 to Tel Aviv recognized since the 1980s . He studied architecture at theArchitectural Association School of Architecture of London Tschumi is his teacher and Zaha Hadid his colleague. He discovered the design Italy. He founded his first studio One Off Ltd. in 1981 Caroline Thormann. Second , success is not waiting. He signed his first success with , among others, the chairs Rover ( 1981) and Well- Tempered Chair ( 1986) , then with the iconic shelf Bookworm (1993) originally manufactured in steel and plastic Kartell. Ron Arad uses technologies and materials with patterns and shapes are totally new . Handling, processing and testing are the key words of the spirit of his creations. Its design is characterized by the pure  forms and unconventional taste for curves that in the tradition of designers sculptors. His approach is indeed more that of an artist as an industrial designer, demonstrated by the side single object of his creations, and that their function is not a prime criterion in the process of creation.

He has collaborated , among others, with Vitra, Cassina , Driade, Fiam , Kartell, Artemide, Alessi, Flos. In training as an architect, Ron Arad has multple caps: creator, teacher, guest editor of the yearbook 1994 of the international design. To date, Ron Arad is exposed in the most prestigious galleries such as the Barbican Restless, MOMA, Timothy Taylor Gallery etc.. But also throughout the world: London, Paris, Singapore, Milan etc. not to mention his country of origin Jerusalem.
