Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, Antonio Bonet and Juan Kurchan 3 young Argentinian designer who worked for Le Corbusier, come together and founded the Grupo Austral.In 1938, they created the famous model 198 (more commonly known as Butterfly).
This chair was made of a frame in steel tube painted and a leather seat stitching of 4 pieces.
They were inspired by a chair used by the officers of the British Army in the 19th century.
Made originally by Artek-Pascoe, the production of the legendary siege has been taken by Knoll in 1947, losing a few years later, the manufacturing license.
So in the 50s, Andrew Block, editor of Architecture d'Aujourd'hui, talked about the Airborne curious armchair  to Bernard Charles, founder of the Airborne brand.
In gratitude, Bernard Charles will call thechair AA compared to the shape of the seat but also in relation to "Architecture Aujourd'hui".
